007: First Light introduces Bond mentor Greenway in new trailer

007: First Light has introduced another key figure in its Bond origin story: Greenway. The new character trailer presents him as a strategist and mentor who serves as a calmer counterweight to Bond’s reckless instincts. That is a useful role for an origin story because IO Interactive is not starting with the fully polished 007 we know from the films. This version of Bond is still becoming the legendary operative, and a mentor figure helps frame that transformation. For players, Greenway may also indicate how the game balances cinematic character work with mission structure. IO Interactive’s biggest strength is giving players room to observe, improvise and recover when plans fall apart, as seen in Hitman. A Bond game needs that same sense of controlled chaos, but with more spy fantasy, gadgets, charm and high-stakes set pieces. Character trailers like this are small, but they help build the supporting cast around Bond before launch. 007: First Light is due later this month for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, with the Switch 2 version expected later.
