Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced shows improved underwater gameplay
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has shown more of its upgraded underwater gameplay, and the remake continues to look more ambitious than a simple visual remaster. Ubisoft has promised that players will be able to dive underwater anywhere, which is a major change for a game whose original underwater sections were more constrained. The new gameplay footage, covered by GamingBolt, highlights much richer water detail, ocean lighting, coral spaces and sharks that remain just as unpleasant as players remember. This matters because Black Flag’s strongest fantasy has always been freedom at sea: sailing, boarding, treasure hunting, island exploration and piracy between missions. Expanding underwater exploration fits that fantasy naturally. For players, the question is whether these new systems feel meaningful or just pretty. If diving anywhere leads to useful discoveries, danger and exploration rewards, it could make the Caribbean feel much more alive. Black Flag Resynced launches July 9 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. With every showing, Ubisoft seems to be positioning it as a remake that modernizes the pirate adventure rather than merely repainting it.
