Borderlands 4 update 1.7 adds new raid bosses and rewards
Borderlands 4 is getting another free endgame update this month, and the headline is a new raid-boss encounter built around two enemies that empower each other. Update 1.7 introduces The Subjugator and Thol the Invincible, a duo fight where The Subjugator attacks from range before retreating and letting Thol take center stage. When one falls, the other grows stronger, gaining new attacks and a major power boost. That is a classic endgame structure for action RPGs and looter shooters because it forces players to plan damage, builds and target priority rather than simply burn down one oversized health bar. For Borderlands players, the key question is reward quality. Raid bosses work when they drop desirable gear and push builds to their limits without becoming unfair nonsense. The update should help keep high-level players active between larger content drops, especially if the fight feels mechanically different from standard boss arenas. Borderlands has always thrived on ridiculous guns and chaotic co-op, but good raid design gives that chaos a real test.
