Dark Light: Survivor enters Steam Early Access
Dark Light: Survivor is now available in Steam Early Access, giving PC players another roguelike survival option for May. The game casts players as one of the last humans journeying through a shattered multiverse in search of Elysium after the Dark Void unleashes creatures that devastate humanity. The Early Access launch adds several new features, including four types of Totems, melee-weapon Runes, hidden treasures in the Forest of Sunless Keep towers and three completed biomes with their own bosses, minions and atmospheres. The developers expect Early Access to last around one to one-and-a-half years, with future updates planned around maps, enemies, weapons, survival mechanics and general balance. For players, that means Dark Light: Survivor should be treated as a developing project rather than a finished package. The premise has enough apocalyptic flavor to stand apart from the usual cozy-survival wave, but the key will be build variety, enemy readability and how satisfying each run feels. If the team can keep updates steady, it may find a dedicated roguelike-survival audience.
