Nacon Connect puts Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish back in the spotlight

Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish returned during Nacon Connect with a clearer explanation of what Teyon is building. The game puts players in the role of a Hunter fighting supernatural threats in the World of Darkness, with character creation covering appearance, backstory, skills and flaws. Xbox Wire’s recap highlights that attributes and skills are drawn directly from the tabletop roots, and that players will decide how to approach the hunt: guns, social manipulation, investigation or other tools. That matters because Hunter only works if the player feels fragile compared with the monsters. Vampires and werewolves should not feel like ordinary enemies with bigger health bars. They should feel like threats that require planning, information and risk management. Teyon’s recent licensed work on RoboCop: Rogue City gives the project credibility, but World of Darkness is a very different kind of license. Deathwish is planned for summer 2027 on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC and cloud as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. It is still far off, but the concept is getting stronger.
