Inazuma Eleven: Cross will launch in Japan on June 9 for iOS and Android, giving Level-5 another mobile lane for its football RPG universe. The game is free-to-play, which immediately raises the usual questions around stamina, gacha, monetization and whether the football-anime chaos can survive the mobile economy without tripping over itself. Still, the concept makes sense. Inazuma Eleven has a broad cast, collectible appeal and a natural match structure, all of which translate easily to mobile if the design is handled carefully.
