Moss: The Forgotten Relic brings Quill’s VR adventures to flat-screen platforms
Moss is stepping beyond VR with Moss: The Forgotten Relic. Polyarc’s new fantasy adventure combines the stories of Moss and Moss: Book II into a single flat-screen release for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, Switch and PC this summer. That is a major shift because Moss has always been strongly associated with virtual reality, where players looked down into Quill’s world like a living diorama and helped guide her through puzzles and danger. Translating that intimacy to traditional screens is not automatic. The challenge is preserving the sense of scale, presence and connection that made the VR games special while making the controls and camera feel natural for non-VR platforms. The opportunity is obvious: a much larger audience can now experience Quill’s story without needing a headset. For players who enjoy fairy-tale adventure, light puzzle-solving and character-driven platforming, The Forgotten Relic could become a strong summer release. It also suggests more VR-origin games may be reworked for wider audiences if the design can survive the transition.
