PS5 beta widget shows the most-played games in your country
Sony appears to be testing a useful new social-discovery feature for PlayStation 5. A new beta widget spotted in the PS5 Welcome Hub shows the Top 10 most-played games in the player’s country during the week, along with a Trending Now section for titles seeing a surge in gameplay hours and matches. That may sound simple, but it could make the PS5 home screen feel more alive. Most platform storefronts already show sales charts, but actual regional play activity is more interesting because it reflects what people are really playing, not only what they recently bought or downloaded. For players, this could help answer the most common multiplayer question: what is active right now where I live? For Sony, it adds a light community layer without turning the dashboard into a social feed. The important detail is that this is still a beta discovery, not a fully rolled-out feature. If it launches broadly, it could become a neat way to surface local trends, live-service spikes, new releases and surprise comebacks.
