PUBG: Black Budget opens requests for second closed alpha test
KRAFTON is moving PUBG: Black Budget toward another major test. The company has announced a second closed alpha for the extraction-focused project, with PC players able to request access through Steam. The test will cover North America, Europe and Asia, and like the first alpha, players will be allowed to stream, record and share gameplay because there is no NDA. That is a confident choice. It suggests KRAFTON wants public reaction, not a hidden technical test. Black Budget is interesting because it takes PUBG’s battle-royale heritage and pushes it toward extraction mechanics, a space that is crowded but still full of opportunity. The first alpha reportedly peaked around 10,000 players, giving KRAFTON a useful base of feedback. The second alpha now needs to show whether the team has improved pacing, loot flow, risk, AI pressure and extraction tension. For players burned out on standard battle royale but still interested in tactical survival, Black Budget could become one to watch. The key will be whether it feels like its own game rather than PUBG wearing another genre’s jacket.
