The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu shows tense co-op gameplay after Nacon Connect

The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu received a deeper gameplay showcase following Nacon Connect, giving players a clearer idea of how its cooperative horror will work. The setup is simple but strong: players gear up on a galleon, enter a cursed jungle, search for treasure and try to return alive while the environment twists perception and reality. The co-op angle is important because horror with friends can easily become comedy unless the systems create enough pressure. ACE Team seems to be aiming for paranoia rather than just monster attacks. Firearms can help, but noise may attract worse things, meaning players have to decide when aggression is worth the risk. That kind of push-and-pull is exactly what cooperative horror needs: teamwork, panic, mistakes and suspicion. The Mound launches on July 15 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. For players who like Lovecraftian horror but want something more active than walking through corridors, this could be one of the summer’s more interesting AA releases.
