Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Rageborn announced for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and PC
Nacon and crea-ture Studios have announced Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Rageborn for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and PC. The game is a top-down Metroidvania set in the World of Darkness universe, with players taking the role of a Garou fighting against Pentex. The core hook is transformation. Players can switch between human, wolf and werewolf forms, using different movement and combat abilities to explore, fight and develop their den and pack relationships. For fans of the tabletop setting, this is an interesting shift because Werewolf games have often struggled to translate the fantasy into satisfying mechanics. A Metroidvania structure may be a smart fit: new forms, abilities and routes naturally match the idea of growing supernatural power. The challenge will be tone. Werewolf: The Apocalypse is not only about rage and claws; it is also about ecology, corruption, tribe identity and spiritual warfare. If Rageborn captures both the violence and the setting’s deeper conflict, it could become one of the more promising World of Darkness games in years. It is currently planned for 2027.
