Windrose passes two million copies sold after one month

Windrose continues its surprise run as one of 2026’s breakout survival games. Developer Kraken Express has announced that the pirate-themed survival crafting title has sold two million copies, just one month after its April 14 release. That follows the game passing one million and 1.5 million in earlier milestones, showing that its momentum has not burned out after launch week. The appeal is easy to understand: ships, exploration, island survival, crafting, base-building and pirate fantasy all fit naturally into the survival sandbox formula. What matters now is support. Kraken Express says it is working on more bug fixes before moving toward the next major update. That is the right order. Survival communities can tolerate Early Access rough edges when they see quick fixes, communication and a clear path forward. Two million sales also means the player base is big enough to sustain shared stories, guides, mods, videos and long-term community discussion. For a new survival game, that community layer can be as important as the official roadmap. Windrose has found the wind; now it needs to keep sailing.
