007 First Light sells 1.5 million copies in its first 24 hours

007 First Light is already off to a very Bond-like start: expensive suit, fast car, large numbers. IO Interactive’s new James Bond origin story has sold 1.5 million copies in its first 24 hours, which is a strong result for a franchise that has spent far too long living off GoldenEye nostalgia and licensing headaches. The game also reportedly peaked at 68,477 concurrent players on Steam, but the bigger story is the overall launch momentum across platforms.
That matters because this is not tied to one specific movie. IO has effectively created its own playable Bond continuity, and early sales suggest players were ready for that.
If the post-launch TacSim support lands well, this could become more than a comeback. It could become the foundation for a proper modern 007 game series.
