Editorial Standards
GameForceAsia covers games, developers, platforms and the business of gaming with a Southeast Asian perspective. These standards describe the rules we aim to apply across news, features, reviews and commercial content.
Accuracy and sourcing
News should be grounded in identifiable source material. We distinguish confirmed information from reports, rumours, interpretation and opinion, and we link to primary or attributable sources where practical.
Headlines should reflect the substance of the story rather than exaggerating what a source actually says. When information changes after publication, the article may be updated or corrected.
Editorial independence
Advertising, affiliate links, shop links and commercial partnerships do not determine review scores or editorial verdicts. Paid or sponsored material should be labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage.
Commercial staff may help arrange campaigns and partnerships, but editorial conclusions remain separate from the sale of advertising or promotional services.
Reviews and opinion
Reviews are assessments, not objective measurements. They should explain the experience, context, strengths, weaknesses and reasoning behind the verdict rather than relying on a score alone.
Conflicts and disclosure
- Material commercial relationships should be disclosed where they could reasonably matter to the reader.
- Affiliate links should not change the price paid by the reader unless clearly stated otherwise.
- Embargoes, review copies or developer-provided access do not guarantee favourable coverage.
