007 First Light hits 1.5 million sales in 24 hours

007 First Light is already acting like a Bond movie with a blockbuster opening weekend. IO Interactive’s spy adventure has sold 1.5 million copies in its first 24 hours, which is a serious launch statement for a franchise that had spent far too long in gaming limbo.

The timing is perfect too: Bond is back without being chained to one specific movie, IO gets to build its own continuity, and players finally have a 007 game that leans into infiltration, gadgets, social stealth and stylish chaos rather than just generic shooting in an expensive suit.

The strong review scores also matter because this is not just curiosity-driven nostalgia. It suggests IO has built a foundation for a proper modern Bond game series. If post-launch TacSim support and the later Switch 2 version keep momentum alive, this could become one of 2026’s biggest comeback stories.
