Amazon says a 007 First Light sequel should be made

007 First Light may already be lining up its sequel future, at least emotionally. Amazon’s head of gaming, Jeff Gattis, clarified earlier comments that caused some concern about whether IO Interactive would be involved in future Bond games.

The key message now is much more reassuring: IO has been a great partner, First Light is doing well, and if there is market appetite, a sequel should be made. That is not the same as a formal announcement, but after the game’s strong first week and roadmap reveal, it feels like the Bond game universe has real momentum.

IO’s version of Bond worked because it blended stealth, action, social infiltration and cinematic espionage without feeling like a cheap licensed tie-in. If a sequel happens, the champagne should stay cold but nearby.
