Apidya’ Special gets August 25 release date

Apidya’ Special now has a release date: August 25, 2026. ININ Games is bringing back the 1992 Amiga side-scrolling shoot ’em up as a handcrafted 24-bit pixel remake, and the whole project sounds built for retro fans who are allergic to lazy upscales.

The remake promises no 3D models and no AI upscaling, just rebuilt pixel art, widescreen support, optional original 4:3 presentation, CRT-style visual effects, new parallax layers, expanded worlds, hidden stages, co-op helper drones and music tied to Chris Hülsbeck. That is exactly the right way to revive a cult European shooter.

Apidya is not a household name for everyone, but for retro players who remember the Amiga’s strange magic, this could feel like a lovingly restored insect with a laser cannon.
