BitSummit 2026 awards name Artis Impact as top show title

By Michael Chen · May 23, 2026

BitSummit PUNCH has wrapped its 2026 awards in Kyoto, and the big winner is Artis Impact. The futuristic turn-based RPG took the Vermillion Gate award, the festival’s top honor for the most impressive title of the show.

That is exactly the kind of signal indie RPG fans should notice, because BitSummit has become one of the best places to spot distinctive projects before they break wider. VGC’s Media Highlight award went to Sloppy Forgeries, a comedy competitive painting game, which sounds like the kind of beautifully weird idea that can only come from an indie show floor.

The full winner list also included Dungeon Clawler, YaoyoroZOO, Nightmare Operator, Finding Polka, Cento, Vikings on Trampolines and several media-highlight picks. The broader point is simple: BitSummit remains valuable because it is not just a trailer feed. It is a discovery event where odd, handmade and culturally specific games can actually stand out. In a summer full of expensive showcase noise, that matters.
