Blood Dungeon announced by Nidhogg creator Messhof

Blood Dungeon has been announced by Messhof, the studio best known for Nidhogg, and that alone gives the project a little extra bite. The new game is described as a 2D platforming survival title coming to PS5, Xbox Series and PC. That combination sounds simple, but Messhof has a history of turning minimal design into high-pressure, readable chaos.

A survival platformer lives or dies on tight control, clear hazards and the constant feeling that one mistake will become a story you complain about for ten minutes. The title suggests something nasty, compact and probably not interested in player comfort. That could be exactly the appeal.

In a showcase full of giant brands and cinematic trailers, a sharp 2D survival project can still stand out if it has strong feel and a brutal hook.
