BrokenLore: Ascend has been announced for PS5 and PC, and it sounds like horror for anyone who already thinks social media is a haunted building. Serafini Productions is expanding the BrokenLore universe with a standalone story starring two climbers, Ren and Yui, as they attempt to scale Elysium Tower in Tokyo while chasing the ultimate video.
Naturally, because this is psychological horror and not a cheerful tourism vlog, something horrible is waiting up there. The game continues the series’ interest in external validation, online obsession and the emotional rot that happens when people perform for an audience too long.
The climbing premise is smart because it immediately creates vertical tension: no easy escape, no comfortable ground and a very strong reason not to look down. There is no release date yet, but the concept is already sharp enough to watch.
