Maverick Games reveals open-world driving game Clutch

Maverick Games has officially revealed Clutch, an open-world action-driving game coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC in spring 2027. That name alone already sounds like the studio knows exactly what kind of fantasy it wants to sell: driving with pressure, style and consequences.

The announcement matters because Maverick was founded by former Forza Horizon creative director Mike Brown, which means expectations are instantly higher than they would be for a random new racing project. Clutch is not being pitched as another clean festival racer.

The description points toward narrative driving, underground race-and-chase sandbox energy, high-stakes pursuits and a more cinematic reason to drive beyond simply checking off events. That could be a very interesting lane. Forza Horizon owns carefree open-world driving. Clutch may be trying to add danger, story and grit without losing the joy of speed.
