Console Archives Geki-Oh ShienRyu launches May 28 on Switch 2

Geki-Oh ShienRyu is the next Console Archives release for Nintendo Switch 2, launching May 28 through HAMSTER. Originally released in 1999 by Warashi, the game is a shoot ’em up built around classic shoot-and-dodge intensity, waves of enemy forces and giant war machines that were apparently not interested in polite negotiation.
Console Archives continues to be a useful preservation lane because it is not only focused on the obvious arcade immortals. Releases like this keep smaller, more specific console-era action games accessible on modern hardware.
The Switch 2 version will include modern conveniences like customizable button layouts, screen settings, save and load support, and other comfort features. For shmup fans, that matters. These games live on precision, and modern reissues need to respect both the original challenge and the reality that people no longer want to restart from scratch because the doorbell rang.
