Culdcept The First Saturn Tribute Finally Brings the Original Game West
After nearly three decades of passionate import requests, City Connection has launched Culdcept The First Saturn Tribute today on PC and Nintendo Switch. The release marks the first official English-language localization of the landmark 1997 strategy title that originated the acclaimed cult series.
Culdcept uniquely fuses the spatial territory control of classic board games with deep collectible card deck building and tactical spellcasting. Players navigate game boards, claiming elemental land tiles, deploying defensive fantasy creatures, and triggering magical toll tributes when rivals traverse occupied spaces. The Saturn Tribute edition preserves the original sprite artwork while incorporating modern quality-of-life enhancements such as rewind functions, quick-save slots, and high-resolution screen filters.
By revisiting the foundational narrative surrounding the shattered fragments of the sacred Culdcept tome, retro enthusiasts can finally experience the roots of Japan's most inventive strategy hybrid. Discover retro features on /news and browse classic release retrospectives on /release-radar.
