Riot removes Cypher from Valorant after Spycam bug returns

Cypher has been removed from all Valorant modes after an old Spycam bug resurfaced, and yes, somehow the camera is causing trouble again. Riot Games pulled the agent after players discovered that the bug allowed Cypher to effectively weaponize his Spycam in ways the game very much did not intend.

That is a serious problem because Valorant is built around tight competitive trust. If a utility ability starts behaving like forbidden magic, every match involving that agent becomes suspect.

The removal is disruptive, especially for Cypher mains who now have to touch grass or learn a different sentinel, but it is the correct call. Competitive shooters need fast containment when bugs affect fairness. The funny part is that Cypher’s entire fantasy is surveillance and control. The less funny part is when the surveillance camera apparently becomes a balance crime.
