Dragon Quest Monsters reveals story, DLC and monster-wrangling details

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World got a proper follow-up info drop after its Nintendo Direct reveal, and the pitch is becoming clearer. The game stars Bianca and Nera from Dragon Quest V, now pushed into a monster-wrangling adventure in a strange world as they search for a cure for their fathers.

That is a smart bit of franchise recycling: familiar characters, but in a new structure built around scouting, battling and synthesizing monsters. Square Enix also detailed the world, monsters and DLC plans, giving fans more to chew on before the December 3 launch.

Dragon Quest Monsters has always been a time thief. Every creature is not just a party member; it is future recipe material.
