Famitsu scores Yoshi and the Mysterious Book 35 out of 40

Famitsu’s latest review scores are in, and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book comes out looking strong with a 35 out of 40. The four reviewers scored it 9, 9, 8 and 9, which suggests Japan’s long-running magazine found a lot to like in Nintendo’s gentle Switch 2 platformer.
That is useful context because the broader review conversation around Yoshi has been mixed-positive rather than universally glowing. Some players love the softer exploration, creature observation and no-death approach, while others want more challenge from a platformer.
Famitsu’s score suggests the game’s charm, pacing and family-friendly design may be landing better with audiences who accept Yoshi on his own terms. The same issue also scored Coffee Talk Tokyo, Demon Kill Demon: Yomi 1984, Utawarerumono, MotoGP 26, Trash Goblin and JDM. But Yoshi is clearly the headline, especially with Switch 2 still building its early library.
