Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Switch 2 launch trailer arrives

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is almost here on Nintendo Switch 2, and Square Enix has released a launch trailer to remind everyone that the file size may be huge, but so is the adventure. The Switch 2 version arrives on June 3, bringing the second chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 remake project to Nintendo’s newer hardware.

That matters because Rebirth is not a small port. It is a massive RPG with open regions, cinematic storytelling, party banter, chocobos, minigames, dramatic destiny nonsense and enough emotional baggage to fill a Shinra cargo train.

Switch 2 owners are getting another major third-party RPG early in the system’s life, which is exactly the kind of support Nintendo needs. Performance will be the real test, but the launch trailer makes the pitch clear: Cloud’s road beyond Midgar is now portable again.
