Final Fantasy 7 Revelation keeps feeding Switch 2 speculation

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is still one of the biggest Switch 2 stories after its Summer Game Fest reveal. The final part of the remake trilogy is coming in spring 2027 to PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and PC, a massive shift from the PlayStation-heavy identity the project started with.

That matters because it tells players and publishers that Switch 2 is part of Square Enix’s high-end RPG strategy, not just a secondary platform for older ports. The technical questions remain, of course.

Rebirth is huge, Revelation will likely be bigger, and Switch 2 performance will be watched closely. But the strategic message is already clear: the trilogy is going broad, and Nintendo players are no longer waiting years at the edge of the party.
