Final Fantasy VII Revelation officially closes the remake trilogy in spring 2027
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is real, and Square Enix has finally put a name and window on the remake trilogy’s final chapter. The game is coming in spring 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and PC, which is a very different platform story from where this trilogy began. That matters almost as much as the title.
Final Fantasy VII Remake started as a PlayStation-heavy project, but Revelation is arriving with a much broader day-one footprint. The creative challenge is enormous. Square has to land the trilogy, answer the timeline chaos, handle the original’s most iconic late-game moments and somehow satisfy players who want faithfulness, surprise, emotional closure and spectacular nonsense at the same time.
No pressure then. Just finish one of gaming’s most closely watched remake projects without setting the internet on fire. Easy.
