Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave launches September 17

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is now dated for September 17, giving Switch 2 a major tactical RPG pillar for the second half of the year. The new entry is built around the Heroic Games and introduces four main heroes: Cai, Dietrich, Theodora and Leda.

Between battles, players can explore the capital city of Dagsion, learn techniques, strengthen bonds, recruit allies and travel outside the city for additional experience. That structure sounds like Nintendo and Intelligent Systems are continuing to blend tactical combat with social and exploratory systems, which is exactly where modern Fire Emblem found broader appeal.

The special Dagdan Collection adds the usual physical temptation with a steel case, art cards, map and artbook. Fire Emblem fans now have a date, a cast and a new arena for bad decisions involving permadeath.
