CD Projekt Red says future Witcher DLC may be more limited

CD Projekt Red has warned players not to assume every future Witcher game will receive DLC on the scale of The Witcher 3. That may sting because Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are still treated like sacred expansion scripture by RPG fans. But it is also a realistic message.
The Witcher 4 and future projects are being built in a different production environment, with different pipelines, budgets and creative priorities. Massive expansions can be wonderful, but they are also expensive, slow and hard to schedule when teams are already moving toward the next major release.
The key is not whether every future Witcher game gets two enormous DLC packs. The key is whether CD Projekt Red can still make post-launch content feel meaningful instead of thin. Players will forgive “less” if the quality remains high. They will not forgive expensive filler wearing a wolf medallion.
