Grand Theft Auto VI Gets Its Official Launch Trailer as Rockstar Prepares for November 19 Release
Rockstar Games has released the official launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, giving players another substantial look at what is almost certainly the most anticipated videogame release of 2026. The ninety-second trailer arrived on October 15, just over a month before the game's scheduled November 19 release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It places protagonists Jason and Lucia firmly at the centre of the story, showing how an apparently straightforward criminal opportunity develops into a much larger conspiracy stretching across the fictional state of Leonida.
Vice City provides the familiar sun-drenched backdrop, although Rockstar's modern interpretation looks considerably more elaborate than the location players remember from earlier games. The trailer also introduces original music from French electronic duo Justice, who are contributing to the game's score. A new track titled Flower in a Hurricane features Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, demonstrating the considerable musical ambition accompanying the release. Rockstar has also announced an official soundtrack album available through streaming services and physical formats.
The trailer represents an important milestone because the company is now moving from carefully controlled previews into its final promotional campaign. Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to become one of the year's largest entertainment launches, attracting attention far beyond conventional gaming audiences. However, the November release date remains the confirmed target rather than a guarantee against further unexpected changes. PC players are still awaiting an official platform announcement despite recent reports suggesting a possible 2027 release. Rockstar has spent years building expectations around its return to Vice City. The final trailer suggests that the company is now ready to discover whether reality can possibly live up to the extraordinary amount of hype.
