Guild Wars 3 announced for PS5 and PC

Guild Wars 3 has finally been announced, and that is a huge moment for MMO players who have spent years wondering when ArenaNet would formally move beyond Guild Wars 2. The new game is coming to PS5 and PC, which is already interesting because it points to a more console-conscious future for the franchise.

Guild Wars has always had a distinct identity compared with subscription-heavy MMOs: world events, flexible progression, strong art direction and a willingness to avoid some of the genre’s most exhausting traditions. A third entry now has to answer a difficult question: what does a modern MMO need to be in a world full of live-service competition, player fatigue and huge development risk?

If ArenaNet can make Tyria feel fresh again without losing the series’ cooperative DNA, Guild Wars 3 could be a very big deal.
