ESL announces IEM Beijing 2026 as major Counter-Strike event for Asia

IEM Beijing is coming back, and ESL clearly wants this to feel like more than a routine stop on the Counter-Strike calendar. IEM Beijing 2026 will run from November 2 to November 8, bringing 16 elite Counter-Strike 2 teams to the Bloomage Biotech·Biohyalux ECM Arena in Beijing.

The prize pool is set at $1.25 million, but the bigger story is scale. ESL is positioning this as the largest standalone IEM event ever held in Asia, with an expected audience of more than 45,000 fans and a 360-degree stage design returning for the first time since the IEM Rio Major 2022.

That matters because Asia’s live esports audience has always had huge potential, but major international CS events have not always treated the region as a regular center of gravity. Beijing getting this kind of event is a statement: Counter-Strike’s global map is still expanding, and China remains a critical battleground for live esports.
