Jurassic Park: Survival has finally shown signs of life again, which is good news for anyone who has been staring nervously at the long silence around the project. Saber Interactive says the game is still very much in active development and looking very solid.

That is a small update, but after months of quiet, small is better than extinct. The concept remains strong: a first-person survival adventure set after the events of the original Jurassic Park, where the fantasy is not becoming a dinosaur-hunting superhero but surviving a place where every sound in the bushes might be your final review score.

The danger is expectation. Jurassic Park fans have waited a long time for a game that treats the island as a horror environment rather than a shooting gallery. If Saber gets the tension right, Survival could be special.
