Kidbash: Super Legend brings Acclaim’s comeback to consoles in 2027

Acclaim’s comeback is starting to look more interesting with Kidbash: Super Legend. The new roguelike action platformer is being developed by Indonesian studios Authentic Remixes and Fat Raccoon, with a planned early 2027 release for Steam and consoles.

The pitch has a strong nostalgic hook: fast action, exploration, weapon mixing, deep roguelike progression and a claymation-style look that gives it a handmade diorama quality. The official messaging namechecks the spirit of Mega Man and Kirby 64, and you can see why. Kidbash looks like the kind of game that wants to feel familiar without simply cosplay-copying one obvious classic.

The setting, called the O.D.D., is a world where forgotten video game characters reside, which also works nicely for Acclaim’s own strange resurrection as a publisher. If the gameplay has the same personality as the art direction, this could become more than a cute comeback story. It could be one of the indie platformers to watch next year.
