Mafia: The Old Country expands with Man of Honor on August 14

Mafia: The Old Country is getting a story expansion called Man of Honor on August 14, and the title alone tells you everyone involved is about to make terrible choices with excellent suits. The expansion was revealed at Summer Game Fest and appears to bring the series back into the kind of family, loyalty and betrayal territory Mafia handles best.

The Old Country already carried the appeal of going deeper into the Sicilian roots of the franchise, so a story expansion is a natural fit. The challenge is making it feel substantial rather than a short add-on with a dramatic hat.

Mafia works when atmosphere, character, violence and consequence all support each other. If Man of Honor gives players a compact but meaningful crime story, it could be a strong reason to return before the fall rush.
