Marvel 1943 will not arrive in 2026

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will not launch in 2026, according to a Paramount executive, which means one of the more intriguing superhero projects is sliding further out. That is disappointing but not shocking. Marvel 1943 carries a lot of ambition: a World War II setting, Captain America, Black Panther, cinematic presentation and the expectations that come with Skydance New Media’s leadership.

The project also now sits inside the broader Paramount Games structure, which adds another layer of business attention around it. A delay beyond 2026 may actually be wise if it prevents another licensed game from arriving undercooked. Superhero fatigue is real, and players are much less forgiving now.

A strong Marvel 1943 could still be special. A rushed one would become another warning sign in a genre full of them.
