Marvel Rivals launches targeted purge of cheating accounts

Marvel Rivals is cleaning house after a weekend where cheaters apparently decided the fair battlefield needed clown shoes. NetEase has announced an immediate targeted purge of cheating accounts, including permanent bans for accounts found guilty and stronger action against repeat offenders through device and IP bans.
That is the right kind of public response for a competitive hero shooter because nothing poisons multiplayer faster than players feeling that the match is already rigged before the first ability goes off. Marvel Rivals has built strong momentum by combining familiar superhero chaos with team-shooter structure, but big licenses do not protect a live-service game from basic trust problems.
Anti-cheat action needs to be visible, fast and consistent. A name-and-shame list may feel dramatic, but for regular players it sends a simple message: if you want to fly, teleport and blast people unfairly, at least pick a character who is supposed to do that.
