Open-world mountain-biking game Mavrix by Matt Jones joins Xbox Game Pass on July 16 across cloud, Xbox Series X|S, supported handheld play and PC. Designed with professional rider Matt Jones, the game focuses on exploring terrain, competing with other riders, customising equipment and developing a cycling career.
Subscription access should help it reach players outside the relatively specialised mountain-biking audience. The handling model will be central to its reception: bikes need to feel responsive while still conveying weight, speed and the consequences of poor landings.
Multiplayer population will also matter because competitive events become less appealing when matchmaking is thin. Its Game Pass arrival is confirmed for Thursday, not today.
