Mina the Hollower launches today across console and PC

Mina the Hollower launches today, and Yacht Club Games is finally stepping out from Shovel Knight’s very large shadow with something that still knows exactly where its retro heart lives. The game is an 8-bit-style action adventure with Game Boy Color energy, modern animation, widescreen presentation, tight combat and a gothic world full of monsters, secrets and unpleasant underground decisions. Mina can burrow, whip enemies, use sidearms, equip trinkets and explore a large interconnected world.

The $19.99 price is also notable because this is clearly not a throwaway mini-project. Yacht Club has built enormous goodwill on precision platforming and retro craftsmanship, so Mina has expectations strapped to her tiny shoulders.

If the game delivers, it could become one of 2026’s strongest indie action adventures. If not, well, at least the mouse brought a whip.
