Minecraft native Switch 2 version brings Vibrant Visuals and Mario Mash-Up

By GFA Staff · June 10, 2026

Minecraft is coming natively to Switch 2 later this year, and the big pitch is Vibrant Visuals plus the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack. That is exactly what Nintendo players would want: better-looking block building, cross-device play, local multiplayer, save transfer from the Switch version and a Mario-themed world with 15 tracks and 40 character skins.

Minecraft already works almost everywhere, but native Switch 2 support matters because the original Switch version had limitations and performance compromises compared to other platforms. The upgraded version gives Mojang and Nintendo a cleaner base for the next generation.

It also reinforces something obvious but important: Minecraft is still one of the most essential games on any family-friendly platform. Switch 2 needed it properly, and now it has it.
