Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 shows off slower tactical DMZ mode

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 closed the Xbox showcase with a look at DMZ, the returning extraction-inspired mode that seems to be leaning into slower, more tactical decision-making. That is a smart counterweight to normal Call of Duty multiplayer, where everything can feel like a caffeine accident with red dots.

DMZ sends players into unstable conflict zones to recover advanced military technology, either solo or with a squad. ” If Infinity Ward gets the balance right, DMZ can offer tension, teamwork and risk without becoming a pure loot treadmill.

Modern Warfare 4 already has a single-player campaign, traditional multiplayer and Switch 2 support, so DMZ gives it another reason to stay in the conversation after launch. Whether players trust Call of Duty extraction again is the big question.
