Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion announced

Monster Hunter Wilds is not only coming to Switch 2; Capcom also used the Summer Game Fest window to announce Ascendance, a new expansion for the game. That is the kind of double-hit Monster Hunter fans like: more platforms and more monsters, ideally with enough new gear to ruin everyone’s sleep schedule. Expansions are where Monster Hunter often truly stretches its legs.

The base game builds the ecology, systems and hunt rhythm; the big expansion usually adds the sharper teeth. Ascendance now has to prove it is more than a content bump. Players will expect new monsters, higher challenge, fresh equipment, meaningful environments and reasons to rebuild their hunting habits.

Capcom has been very good at long-tail Monster Hunter support, so expectations are naturally high. The hunt, as usual, refuses to end.
