Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next launch trailer serves up arcade chaos

By GFA Staff · May 30, 2026

Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next has a launch trailer, and the game is now available on Nintendo Switch. The pitch is pure licensed arcade sports: SpongeBob, Aang, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles characters and other Nickelodeon names thrown into fast local tennis matches with customization, ultimate abilities, mini-games and story mode.

This is not trying to be a simulation, and thank goodness for that. Nobody needs SpongeBob asking about realistic topspin physics. The appeal is instant couch fun, character chaos and a sports format simple enough for families while still leaving room for silly competitive arguments.

Gameloft is selling it physically and digitally, which gives it a better chance of reaching the younger audience it is clearly built for. If the controls are easy and the character roster lands, this could be a solid party-sports pickup.
