Nintendo Switch Sports Resort returns to Wuhu Island on October 22

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is real, and Nintendo is taking players back to Wuhu Island on October 22. The game is coming exclusively to Switch 2 and features 12 sports, mixing returning activities like bowling, tennis, volleyball, basketball and golf with leisure sports such as skateboarding, power cruising and prop plane.

The important part is that Nintendo is clearly using Joy-Con 2 features as part of the pitch, including mouse-style controls for some activities. This is exactly the kind of game Switch 2 needs outside the hardcore release calendar: approachable, family-friendly, motion-driven and instantly understandable.

Sports Resort is not supposed to impress players with lore. It is supposed to make living rooms noisy again. If the motion controls are sharp and the activities have enough variety, this could become Switch 2’s holiday family machine.
