Pokémon 30th Anniversary Celebration TCG set officially revealed

The Pokémon Company has officially revealed the Pokémon TCG’s 30th Anniversary Celebration set, and collectors should probably start hydrating now. The Japanese reveal confirms a nostalgia-heavy set with 30 holographic Pikachu cards illustrated by different artists, plus reprints of iconic cards such as base set Charizard and Pikachu & Zekrom Tag Team GX with a 30th anniversary stamp.

That is exactly the kind of product designed to make collectors behave with the calm rationality of people trying to buy concert tickets during a server crash. Anniversary sets work because they combine nostalgia, scarcity anxiety and the simple joy of shiny cardboard.

The set is due to launch later this year worldwide, and if the reveal is any indication, this may be one of the most chaotic Pokémon TCG releases of 2026.
