Pokémon 30th Anniversary TCG set reveal arrives next week

The Pokémon TCG’s 30th Anniversary set is finally getting its proper reveal next week. The Pokémon Company has confirmed a special announcement video for June 1, after teasing the anniversary product earlier this year. Reports point to a Japan release on September 16, with international timing expected around September 18. The most eyebrow-raising detail is that the Japanese set may feature a Pikachu in every pack, with 30 Pikachu cards to collect.
That is either brilliant nostalgia engineering or a direct attack on collector wallets. Probably both. Pokémon cards are already printing at absurd scale, but anniversary sets are a different beast. They mix nostalgia, scarcity anxiety and the ancient human weakness for shiny cardboard.
If the set leans heavily into classic artwork and milestone designs, expect collectors to become completely normal and sensible. Just kidding. Expect chaos.
