Pokémon Pokopia dives underwater with Bubbly Basin DLC in August

Pokémon Pokopia is heading under the sea in August with a free update and paid Expansion Pass content. The free update adds Dive, letting players explore the ocean floor, plant grass, build structures and create underwater towns alongside Pokémon. The first paid DLC, Bubbly Basin, adds a new underwater town, new furniture, outfits and Pokémon friends.

That is a very smart expansion direction for Pokopia. The game already sits in a cozy life-sim lane, and underwater building gives players an obvious new sandbox without changing the soft tone. It also shows The Pokémon Company treating Pokopia as a long-tail platform rather than a one-and-done Switch 2 launch curiosity.

As usual, the key will be value. Free underwater tools are great. Paid cozy content needs enough charm and new toys to justify the price.
