Project Hadar sounds like CDPR’s next emotional open-world obsession

Project Hadar is starting to sound less like a distant codename and more like CD Projekt Red’s next big identity test. A new listing describes the studio’s original IP as an emotional open-world experience, which is exactly the kind of phrase that makes RPG fans immediately start building castles in the sky.
That does not mean we are close to a reveal, and CDPR still has The Witcher and Cyberpunk work demanding attention. But Hadar matters because it is not based on an existing book series or tabletop universe.
It is CDPR trying to create a new world from scratch. That is exciting and dangerous in equal measure. The studio’s biggest strength has always been turning places into characters: Novigrad, Night City, Toussaint. If Hadar can capture that same sense of place while avoiding the launch scars of Cyberpunk 2077, it could become one of the most important new RPG brands of the next generation.
